Learning with the left hand
I've been practicing backgrounds recently by doing them with my left hand, so far I've been really enjoying it! I'm hoping that eventually I can do the backgrounds for my comic with my left hand and the characters with my right.

SKIP boards- part 2
Another set of boards. The rule for Arthur and Mesi transitioning between film genres in this version is that it's always through a reflective surface; mirrors, sword blades, you name it. Lends itself to some interesting options! Anyway this is a 'to be continued' section so hang in there for the next installment (it could take a while...).

SKIP feature boards - shower scene
So there's been some interest from my tumblr followers about the fact that I have a feature version of SKIP stowed away in my brain, so I've started doing a couple of boards as a means of showing little parts of it, as well as keeping up board practice.
They ended up being more of a clumsy hybrid between beat boards and storyboards to save my sanity (doing them on top of an actual storyboarding job and the web comic proved to be a little tricky), but I enjoyed the exercise so I will likely keep doing them in my spare time.
This scene is very obviously a parody so most of the hard work was already done for me :'D

Well I certainly nearly forgot that I have an art blog
Oh dear that was stupid of me BUT I HAVE RETURNED FROM THE GRAVE. Well, actually I didn't die so I'm not sure what I would be doing in a grave, perhaps someone just got tired of me or mistook me for a corpse while I was sleeping. Anyway I've been slogging away at storyboarding work on contract and will be doing so again in a short while, but in the interim perhaps I can make up for neglecting this blog and do some catching up by posting art from the missed weeks. For those with tumblr blogs I actually post most of my drawings there on my own blog in the art tag page so you can scroll through an infinity of inane doodles and other art over there if you like!
This is a screen shot study I did yesterday to shake things up. It's taken from Endeavour, Season 2 Episode 4, and it's a wonderful show not least for the stunning composition and lighting they use (first image is the screen shot second in the study).

Steven Universe is a good show and you should watch it
Also I should try to remember that I have an art blog. I draw 24/7 remembering to put things on this diggity darn site should not be as hard as I make it out to be.
Anyway yes I came up with a gem lady because who doesn't want to be one of those dames \o/
